Convenience / HMR Product Specialist

SUMMARY:
Our client based in Pretoria is looking for a Convenience / HMR Product Specialist to keep the Gauteng North Key Accounts manager informed of all progress made alternatively, problems that could be turned into opportunities and how the HMR market segment could be further grown and developed to the benefit of the company.

POSITION INFO:

Qualifications

• Grade 12 qualification = matric
• Formal sales training at recognised institution will be an added advantage
• Formal training in Catering / Hospitality industry an added advantage
• Ability to converse, read & write in English and Afrikaans
• Code 08 driver’s license (eb per the new system) without endorsements

 

Responsibilities

• To effectively develop and manage Company’s HMR / ready meals / convenience market segment at predominantly Franchise Retail outlets and chain stores but also at independent manufacturers where HMR is on offer
• To identify and exploit sales and promotional opportunities
• NPD, recipe development and costings
• Handle customer complaints and enquiries swiftly and efficiently
• To recommend improvements to issues such as ageing stock and redundant goods
• Identify needs and opportunities for improving customer performance
• Provide marketing and sales support functions
• Gather and communicate all relevant competitor activities to senior management and counteract in marketplace where necessitated
• Understand the consumer and brand marketing implications within the local market channel
• To comply and ensure compliance with company regulations and food safety regulations
• Keep abreast of existing and new product knowledge
