POSITION INFO:
Micro Forest Forestry Area Manager (Silviculture), Mthatha, Eastern Cape, Rneg + Company Housing
- Diploma in Forestry as the minimum, Btech will be an advantage
- At least 10 years` experience as a forester of which at least 2 of these must be at Senior Forester Level.
- Budgeting and Budget control
- Good team player with good communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Extensive firefighting experience
- Proficiency in Micro Forest PMI and BSi, Excel, Word, GIS, PowerPoint & Outlook
- Technical knowledge of the environment
- Planning & organisational skills
- Management of vehicles and equipment for the area
- Establish, maintain and protect plantation assets
- Adhere to all environmental, conservation legislation
- Manage Contractors where applicable
- Risk/Safety/FSC requirements
- Liaise Function with Relevant stakeholders
- Personnel Development/Management
- Administration
- Plantation database management
- Manage own Silviculture labour
- Annual budget control
