Accountant

SUMMARY:
We’re looking for a dynamic, commercially savvy Accountant who’s laid a solid foundation in a small to mid-sized firm and successfully completed their SAIPA articles. This role isn’t about going through the motions — it’s about rolling up your sleeves, tackling challenges head-on, and driving real improvement across the finance function.

POSITION INFO:

As the Accountant, your duties and responsibilities will include the following:
Oversee and maintain accurate asset registers and ensure effective asset management practices
Take ownership of stock control, including monitoring and managing inventory levels
Support the Financial Manager in preparing management accounts, forecasts and budgets
Provide insightful financial analysis on business performance, trends, cost structures and revenue streams
Offer strategic input to operational managers where needed
Assist in maintaining and enhancing financial systems and record-keeping processes
Focus on automating and leveraging technology
Prepare and review financial reports and statements to ensure accuracy, completeness and alignment with compliance standards and internal controls
Report any anomalies or irregularities within the finance department to the Financial Manager and Managing Director
Ensure that access to financial information remains strictly controlled and confidential at all times
Delegate filing responsibilities to the appropriate finance team members
Prevent backlog and maintain an efficient document management system
Oversee the accounting processes related to product development
Ensure accuracy and compliance
Manage and maintain the internal system

Skills & Experience:
Completed SAIPA articles

Qualification:
Completed Bcom degree
Grade 12 (Matric)
