Accountant: Compliance, TAX and Secretarial Officer

SUMMARY:
Be responsible for ensuring that the company and all its subsidiaries complies with all applicable tax laws, financial, secretarial and compliance regulations in South Africa.

POSITION INFO:

This position is based in Southern Suburbs of Cape Town, is office based with a large, established organisation. The purpose of the Compliance, Tax and Secretarial Officer will ensure that all its subsidiaries complies with all applicable tax laws, financial, secretarial and compliance regulations in South Africa. Your responsibilities will be for various legal entities.

DUTIES:

Secretarial (40%)

• Prepare company resolutions and obtaining signatures
• Maintain resolution register
• Communicate with Company Secretaries
• Ensure compliance with CIPC regulations

Compliance (40%)

• Ensure compliance with local regulations (KYC, FIC, POPI )
• Ensure compliance with Banking requirements and reporting
• Ensure financial policies and procedures are aligned with statutory regulations and best practices
• Assist with bank administration

Taxation (20%)

• Prepare and submit tax returns including VAT, Dividend, Income Tax and Provisional Tax to SARS
• Manage SARS correspondence, audits, verifications, and objections/disputes
• Manage access and updates to SARS e-filing profiles
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess the impact on the business
