SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join their dynamic hospitality finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting financial reporting, and assisting with budgeting and compliance across multiple properties. This is a vital role within their organisation, ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day financial operations.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

Process supplier invoices and resolve related queries
Reconcile petty cash, staff floats, and daily cash-ups
Match F&B purchases to receiving documents and POs
Assist in monthly payroll preparation and statutory submissions
Reconcile accounts payable and ensure accuracy with the general ledger
Process and follow up on debtors, collections, and reconciliations
Prepare payroll journals and support month-end procedures
Assist with stocktake and inventory control reconciliations
Maintain organised and accurate financial records and support audit processes
Collaborate with other departments to clarify financial transactions and reporting

Minimum Requirements:

1–3 years’ experience in a similar finance role within the hospitality industry
Matric (Grade 12) required; relevant tertiary qualification in finance/accounting is an advantage
Proficient in Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced level)
Experience with ACCPAC/SAGE300 and VIP Payroll essential
Familiarity with hospitality PMS systems (e.g., OPERA) is highly beneficial
Excellent organisational and communication skills
High attention to detail, with strong problem-solving abilities
Must have a valid RSA ID
