Assistant Setter

SUMMARY:
Our client is looking for an experienced IMM Assistant Setter to join their team. This role is ideal for a proactive individual with a strong technical background in injection moulding, ready to contribute to the efficient operation of production processes and the delivery of high-quality products.

POSITION INFO:
As the IMM Assistant Setter, you will be responsible for controlling plant operations, managing production resources, and ensuring the highest standards of product quality in a safe and efficient manner. Your key responsibilities will include:

Production Operations and Control

• Achieve production targets through optimal resource utilization and application of skills.
• Ensure operational effectiveness, efficiency, and product quality to meet production schedules.
• Complete, process, and update all production records and documentation accurately.

• Raise job cards for maintenance work and ensure work permits are in place.
• Oversee that equipment and work areas are safe, maintained by operators, and comply with housekeeping standards.

• Operate within controls and procedures to maintain operational integrity.
• Strictly adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation, ensuring minimal risks and incidents.

• Identify and resolve problems creatively, ensuring customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
• Demonstrate integrity and align solutions with company values.

• Collaborate with HR to identify performance objectives, developmental areas, and action plans for staff.
• Address employee relations matters promptly and fairly.

• Minimum: Matric (Grade 12)
• Required: L2 Plastic Federation Injection Moulding Certification
• Advantageous: Computer Literacy (MS Office Suite and job-specific software systems)

• Minimum: 3 years of experience in injection moulding (knowledge of tool changing and fault-finding on injection moulding processes)
• Minimum: 3 years of experience working shifts

• Strong understanding of plant production and maintenance practices, processes, and procedures.
• In-depth knowledge of plastic injection moulding, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.

• Proactive with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Flexible and adaptable with excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work well under pressure and handle conflict situations effectively.
