POSITION INFO:
CORE PURPOSE OF JOB
To facilitate the learning process in Financial Accounting/Corporate Financial Reporting for undergraduate students enrolled for the BCom General Accounting extended studies programme and first year main-stream accounting modules on George campus as it relates the extended studies programmes.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
•Facilitate the learning process in Financial Accounting/Corporate Financial Reporting (by takingresponsibility for course material, lectures, tutorials and setting and moderating assessments) forundergraduate students – both day and evening groups.
•Contribute to the Departmental research output.
•Coordinate projects to contribute to the Department’s engagement output.
•Perform related administrative duties.

•Sound knowledge in the theory and application of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS),recent trends and developments in the field.
•Potential to facilitate learning for undergraduate students enrolled for an extended programme.

•Strong administrative skills.

•Experience and understanding of facilitating learning of students from underprivileged backgrounds
•Experience and a thorough understanding of trending technologies including data and/or accountinganalytics;
•Experience in blended learning practices.
REQUIREMENTS
Candidates should:
•Be in possession of an honours degree or equivalent NQF level 8 qualification specialising in FinancialAccounting/Corporate Reporting;
•Be registered, in good standing, with a relevant professional body (for example, SAIPA; SAICA; CIMA;ACCA) or should have passed the professional examinations and be in the final year of obtaining the relevant professional designation; and
•Have relevant work experience in facilitation of learning of Financial Accounting/Corporate FinancialReporting at first year level*
*Preference will be given to candidates who have experience and a thorough understanding of facilitating learningof students from underprivileged backgrounds.
