JOB SUMMARY:
My client a well-established engineering company, focusing in the packaging industry is seeking to employ a qualified and experienced Automation Engineer to become a member of the EC&I Department.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsibilities

Ability to develop electrical schematics on E-Plan.
Ability to develop single line diagrams on AutoCAD.
Hands on projects (Design, develop, install and commission)
Project plan updates to Head of EC&I.
Cost control on projects.
Procure project related equipment for manufacture.
Traveling in SA and Africa.
Supervise a team to complete projects.
Project planning, updates, and reports.
Maintain a favourable business relationship with new and existing customers and suppliers.
Assist HOD with Costing, quoting and procurement.
Assist with mechanical and electrical design, development, review, documentation, and delivery.
Liaising with customers and site visits for project scoping and measurements.
Service breakdowns and maintenance requests at customers.
Install new machines and equipment.
Panel and Field Wiring.
Software Simulation, Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), commissioning, and Site Acceptance Test (SAT).
Scripting Skills.
PLC Programming: Siemens TIA Portal, Simatic Manager, RSLogix5000.
HMI Programming: TIA Portal WINCC Comfort, TIA Portal WINCC Professional.
VSD and Servo Setup: Danfoss, Siemens.
Network protocols: Profinet, Profibus, AS-I, Ethernet, Ethernet I/P, Modbus TCP, Modbus RTU, DeviceNet.

Requirements:

Minimum N6 / Diploma / B-Tech or higher in Electrical Engineering.
Experience in Solidworks/AutoCAD.
Experience within the bottling industry.
SA Driver’s License.
Passport for traveling in SA and Africa.
Fully computer literate (strong skills in Word & Excel)
In depth knowledge of PLCs.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in the same or similar role.
Ability to fault find and read Electrical Drawings.
Good communication skills (written and verbal)
Self-disciplined, punctual, meticulous, and motivated.
Ability to work under pressure efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
You have a good attitude, are motivated and are continuously seeking to develop personal skills.
You manage your time well and can work independently.
