POSITION INFO:
A world-renowned automation solutions provider is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer based in Cape Town to support their rapidly growing customer base remotely. If you’re a self-driven specialist in sensors, automation systems, and industrial controls, then this is your chance to join a global team without leaving your city. Non-Negotiable Requirements:

Tertiary qualification in Electrical, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering (or equivalent experience)
Minimum 2-5 years’ experience in technical sales within the industrial automation sector
Strong knowledge of sensors, industrial networking, PLCs, and fieldbus systems
Must be based in or near Cape Town with a suitable home office setup
Own reliable transport and valid driver’s license for client visits when needed
Must be a self-starter capable of working independently and managing remote relationships effectively

Job Experience & Skills Required:

Provide technical consultation and automation solutions to customers across manufacturing and industrial sectors
Build and maintain customer relationships across the Western Cape region
Conduct virtual and on-site product demos, system evaluations, and presentations
Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities in line with company targets
Prepare quotes, technical documentation, and sales proposals
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless project handover and post-sales support
Stay updated on industry trends, competitor products, and customer challenges
