About the YES Initiative
The initiative was launched by the President in 2018 and is a partnership with the government and labour department to collectively devise a national plan to build economic pathways for South Africa’s youth by creating workplace opportunities for South African youth over a period of 12 months.
Position: Billing, Accounts & Bookkeeping Clerk
Stipend: R7200.00 pm
Location: Johannesburg (Midrand )
POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:
Billing & Invoicing
- Prepare and issue accurate and timely invoices to clients in accordance with firm policies
- Track and reconcile attorneys’ billable hours and disbursements
- Liaise with legal staff to ensure proper coding and narrative formatting for invoices
- Address client queries related to billing and follow up on overdue accounts
Accounts & Financial Administration- Manage accounts payable and receivable
- Reconcile firm and trust bank accounts, ensuring compliance with legal accounting standards and trust account regulations
- Maintain general ledger and financial records
- Prepare regular financial and management reports
Bookkeeping- Record daily transactions using appropriate accounting software (Legal Practice Management Software)
- Ensure correct allocation of expenses and revenue
- Monitor firm budgets and assist in forecasting
- Support external accountants during audits or year-end processes
Requirements
- South African Unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34.
- Must not have participated on the programme before.
- Matric
- Advantageous: Diploma in Accounting.
- Experience in a similar position.
