JOB SUMMARY:
We are currently on the market for an Junior to Intermediate level Business Analyst for one of our clients in the Gaming sector. If you are currently on the market for a new opportunity and meet all the requirements then we would very much like to hear from you.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Purpose of the Role:
To drive the development of detailed business requirements and participate in the design, development, analysis and testing of business processes and technology changes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Define and document business requirements

Obtain documentation and engage with business users to understand the departments, their processes and technology applications
Document the scope, expectations and timelines in consultation with the project manager assigned to the work
Use techniques such as brainstorming, document analysis, focus groups, facilitated requirements workshops and prototyping to elicit complete and accurate business requirements for process or technology items
Depending on the project, develop the data requirements and business information model requirements in consultation with the Business Intelligence and Data Management teams
Document risks and issues identified by business participants during the requirements gathering process
Validate and drive the sign-off of documented requirements. Ensure that all stakeholders have a common understanding of the requirements including the business owners of the items, process engineers and technology teams
Evaluate and develop solution options for the business to select from including; developing basic business cases and decision support tools. Research external practices to take into consideration ensuring that only publicly available information is used and that regulations related to competitor information are adhered to
Conduct an impact assessment for changes in scope, business requirements or delivery timelines and ensure that business owners formally approve the changes before they are added
Review current state processes and identify problem areas, potential control failure points and streamlining opportunities
Track the usage of the requirements documents through the life cycle of implementing the changes and support ongoing efforts to ensure that solutions that are designed are in fact in line with business expectations
Participate in the identification of the change impacts of new business requirements at the outset and throughout the change life cycle
Participate in change management activities such as the development of user guides or training materials once the business solutions are moved into implementation stage

System solution design and implementation support

Participate in the development of functional and technical systems specifications for the Sage ERP or other systems
Utilise techniques such as business rule analysis, modelling, data definitions, process modelling and scenarios to determine the detailed specifications
Work closely with the technology teams to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the business requirements when they design and develop solutions. Occasional interaction with external technology providers is expected
Provide support and input into system test plans including the development of test cases, test scripts and scenarios
Participate in the user acceptance testing of new functionality developed using the business requirements. Provide detailed feedback on whether the functionality meets the business expectations

Governance

Ensure that all requirements documents are produced in line with company standards
Apply strict version control to requirements documentation
Ensure that documents are properly approved and then stored according to the document storage and retention policy

Knowledge and Experience:

5+years’ experience as a Business Analyst
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Experience working in the online betting/gaming industry in an added advantage
Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives
Excellent practical understanding of process analysis and design; business process optimisation, mapping and tools
Ability to facilitate requirements gathering and validation

Skills and Attributes

Good project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent listening, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

Educational Qualifications:

Degree in Informatics/Information Systems or relevant qualification
Diploma in Business Analysis
Prince II or PMP Certification
