JOB SUMMARY:
Durban. Established concern within the Engineering industry seeks Technical Sales Representative who is a strong negotiator with a solid background in Sales – preferably Technical.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsibilities:

Source, analyse and qualify a strategic pipeline of new and profitable business opportunities, develop proposals and presentations to inform key stakeholders where appropriate
Maintain a database of prospects and account customer activity utilising the Opportunity Pipeline Tracker (OPT), appropriate tools and systems
Prepare and manage a sales budget, and forecast, track, and report on KPI targets (e.g., customer visit reports, prospect mapping, strategic plans, gross margin, sales growth, new customers), pipeline and attainment of revenue objectives
Work closely and network with field sales colleagues and other key stakeholders (e.g. Marketing, Technical) to identify and develop commercial initiatives and secure new business opportunities
Constantly monitor industry and competitor trends and developments, bringing fresh ideas forward for new business opportunities

Requirements:

Minimum Matric
Engineering or technical-related qualification advantageous
Customer focused with exceptional customer service ethos
Strategically focused, with excellent commercial and analytical skills
Exceptional sales techniques – especially in consultative and value selling and with highly technical products and services
Able to develop compelling marketing campaigns in conjunction with Marketing
IT and Microsoft Office Skills
Knowledge of engineering terminology
Able to read and understand engineering drawings
Willingness to travel
Proven track record of winning new business
Targeting and actively selling in multi-product / complex solution environments
Knowledge of engineering / engineering background preferred
Understanding of sealing technology and applications across a broad section of industries preferred
