Business Testing Lead

SUMMARY:
Our client, a leading player in the Supply Chain and Retail technology space, is seeking a Business Testing Lead to join their growing team in Century City, Cape Town. This is an exciting, full-time, on-site opportunity ideal for an experienced software testing professional with 6–8 years of hands-on experience, particularly within the Supply Chain and/or Retail industries.

POSITION INFO:
As the Business Testing Lead, you will oversee and guide a small team of Software Testers, ensuring the timely and high-quality delivery of testing outcomes. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong technical acumen, a methodical approach to testing, and excellent leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of Software Testers, ensuring delivery of high-quality testing within project deadlines.
• Perform a range of testing activities, including manual, automated, functional, regression, and performance testing.
• Collaborate closely with Developers to identify, track, and resolve defects efficiently.
• Document and maintain comprehensive test cases, test results, and defect logs.
• Communicate test outcomes and defect statuses clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and standards within the team.

• 6–8 years of experience in software testing, preferably within the Supply Chain or Retail sectors.
• Hands-on experience with testing tools such as Selenium, Jira, and TestRail.
• Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and modern software development practices.
• A relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience leading or mentoring a team of 1–2 Software Testers.
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to create, document, and execute test plans and report on findings clearly.

• Experience in international Supply Chain, Logistics, or Freight Forwarding environments.
• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and scripting.
• Knowledge of API and integration testing.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and software compliance standards.
