Job Title: Buyer (Food Manufacturing)

Our client based in Midrand, in Food Manufacturing, is looking for a Buyer to join their team in the Food Services Industry. Ensure that all raw materials sourced are of high quality and the best available price.
 
Our procurement Officer will be responsible for the purchase of products.
We are looking for your experience in buying raw materials in food manufacturing, we require your knowledge of the FMCG, food, agricultural, and manufacturing sectors.
 
Desired Experience & Qualification:

• Minimum Matric (Grade 12)
• Proven experience managing supply chain operations. (+- 2 - 5 years)
• Knowledge of negotiation terms.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access)
• Multi-tasking and time-management skills,
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Good knowledge of supplier sourcing practices (Researching, evaluating and liaising with suppliers)
• Advanced calculating skills

POSITION INFO:
Required qualification and working knowledge:

• Identify new suppliers of raw materials from the FMCG, food, agricultural, and manufacturing sector
• Negotiate pricing
• Send enquiries out and get pricing
• Place orders as needed according to urgency
• Track order details on procurement systems (e.g. Suppliers, Quantities, Prices)
• Review the quality of purchased products (Inspect materials)
• Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information, and invoices
• Acquire the most cost-effective deals and reduce procurement expenses
• Developing procurement strategies that are inventive and cost-effective
• Sourcing and engaging reliable suppliers and vendors
• Negotiating with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms
• Building and maintaining long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers
