SUMMARY:
A client based in Kempton Park is looking for a Buyer who has solid experience in working work ERP systems.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements

• Proven experience in a Buyer or Procurement role, preferably within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Strong knowledge of ERP systems.
• Good communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage imports and understand VAT/Duty processes.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

• Review Valve Material Lists: Assess purchasing and inventory needs based on the Valve Material List. Determine which items require ordering and which are available in inventory. Sign off and return to the Production Planner.
• Purchasing – Production Materials: Procure all goods and services for factory production via the ERP system. Source items from production job entries. Plan purchases based on long-term, medium-term, and immediate requirements. Consolidate items onto supplier POs where practical. Print, sign, scan, and email POs to suppliers; provide copies to the Planner.
• Purchasing – Outwork Services: Manage procurement of outwork services using ERP. Use Travellers (received from Inspection) to generate POs. Print POs in duplicate, note PO number on Traveller, and return to Inspection.
• Purchasing – Consumables & General Requirements: Process requisitions for non-production items through ERP. Ensure requisitions include general ledger codes. Print, sign, scan, and email POs to suppliers; provide copies to Admin Clerk. Manage imported item orders, safety stock levels, and time-phased requirements. Prepare VAT and Duty receipts for the Materials Controller.
• Inventory Management: Supervise the Materials Controller. Coordinate financial year-end stocktake. Generate weekly cycle counts and ensure WIP & workshop stock location clearing. Regularly review inventory levels based on safety stock, requirements, and Travellers. Open Work Orders in ERP for needed parts and generate POs accordingly. Monitor and control stock values to maintain financial viability.
• General Duties: Perform additional duties as required by management. Assist with quote costing as needed
• Overtime: Be available to work overtime when required, particularly during work backlogs not caused by the company.
• Company Policies: Adhere to all company rules and policies. Understand that failure to comply may result in disciplinary action.
