Buyer / Purchaser (Automotive)

Minimum Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Purchasing, Supply Chain, or relevant commercial qualification (advantageous)

• Fully computer literate

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in a purchasing role (plant or program)

• Background in technical, manufacturing or automotive environments (advantageous)

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• A go-getter with high attention to detail

• Willingness to travel as needed

• Customer-oriented mindset

• Purchasing system experience (definite advantage)

Key Responsibilities

• Procurement of equipment, consumables, materials, tools, and services as required

• Coordination of orders and payments with the Finance Department

• Supplier performance monitoring and management

• Negotiate and implement frame contracts for cost stability and value

• Drive cost-saving initiatives and understand supplier cost structures

• Create and manage purchase orders, confirmations, and delivery follow-ups

• Participate in demand planning and forecasting

• Handle RFQs and ensure accurate specifications are met

• Support HQ and Sourcing Coordinators with procurement activities

• Maintain part numbers in systems for accurate business planning

• Ensure compliance with purchasing policies and report any irregularities

• Manage procurement for CapEx, commodities, spare parts, and services (including global sourcing)

• Handle full procurement cycle – solicitation, evaluation, purchasing, and supplier database maintenance

• Support Central Purchasing Services as needed
