POSITION INFO:
Chef de Partie | Claremont | Fine Dining Restaurant
We are looking for experienced CHEF DE PARTIE to join the team of a fine dining restaurant located at a luxury boutique hotel in Cape Town’s Claremont.
This is the second restaurant being opened by a chef with extensive experience from Michelin star restaurants and was thoughtfully designed to transport diners away from the stress of the outside world.
The restaurant offers a unique adaptation of European cooking methods, influenced by Asian, South African and worldly flavors.
Requirements:
- Certificate/Diploma in culinary arts
- Previous experience as Chef de Partie (hot kitchen) from luxury hotel or upmarket/fine dining restaurant
- Able to work under pressure and a busy environment
- Solid work history with references
- Immaculate attention to detail
- Very good communication skills
- Work well within a team
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the day-to-day activities of the kitchen team
- Lead by example, ensure the quality and consistency of all products served.
- Ensure that all food is prepared to the standards as set out by the Executive Chef
- Ensure that all menu items have their recipes recorded and updated on an ongoing basis
- Ensure that food waste is kept to a minimum
- Follow all operating procedures and identify and correct any organizational problems that impact the effectiveness of the operation
- Ensure that all health, safety and cleanliness standards are adhered to and correct any deficiencies
- Handle all special requests and guest allergies to ensure guest health and satisfaction
- Other duties or responsibilities as assigned or required
Start date: ASAP
Salary package:
ZAR 12 000 – all depending on experience, work history and references.
