The Group has a management position for a suitably educated, committed, hardworking and motivated engineer who would report to the Divisional Director of the steel and copper divisions in Cape Town. This is a career-oriented engineering position in the metallurgical industry.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Project management, including process design and layout work
- Quality control, implement systems to support product realisation
- Involvement in the operational aspects of the departments (hands-on participation)
- Liaising with various service providers
- Troubleshooting equipment breakdowns and facilitating repairs
- Willingness to “get hands dirty” assisting with engineering requirements
- Production optimization
- Water treatment experience favorable
Applicants must have the following qualifying criteria:
- Good leadership skills
- BEng Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering
- 5 years’ experience in a metallurgical manufacturing/production environment
- Ability and willingness to work in challenging conditions
- Ability to communicate on all levels
- Be deadline-driven
- Ability to work independently
- Team player – able to work well within a team
- Able to follow instructions and execute actions accordingly
- Have a valid unendorsed driver’s license and a reliable motor vehicle
