Job Description: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

We’re seeking a strategic, hands-on CFO to lead the financial direction of our diverse group. This isn’t just a numbers role—you must be able to colour outside the lines, be innovative, and roll with the punches. As we grow, we need a financial leader who can bring structure to complexity, steer the business through change, and think creatively about capital, risk, and opportunity.

The role is based at our Cape Town office, with oversight of several entities throughout the Western Cape. The ideal candidate combines financial rigor with business instinct and a collaborative, forward-thinking mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the financial strategy, planning, and analysis across all group businesses.
• Oversee group-wide financial operations, including reporting, risk management, and compliance.
• Develop and implement financial policies, controls, and reporting standards.
• Guide budgeting and forecasting for individual entities and consolidated operations.
• Manage group cash flow, funding requirements, and investment planning.
• Lead audits, tax compliance, and statutory submissions.
• Provide high-level financial insight to support strategic decision-making and business development.
• Identify and drive process improvements and system enhancements.
• Build and mentor a strong finance team aligned with our growth and values.

Qualifications & Experience:

• A professional financial qualification (CA(SA), CPA, or equivalent) is essential.
• Proven success as a CFO, Financial Director, or senior finance executive in a multi-entity environment.
• Strong leadership and financial management capabilities.
• In-depth understanding of South African financial, tax, and regulatory frameworks.
• Advanced proficiency in financial systems and reporting tools.
• Experience in hospitality, ecotourism, or other operational sectors is advantageous, but not required.
