An exceptional opportunity exists for a visionary and results-driven leader to shape the future of underground mining operations.

POSITION INFO:
A privately owned, growth-oriented mining company is seeking a dynamic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee and optimise the performance of its expanding underground mining assets.

As a Chief Operations Officer, you will be responsible for the following:

Provide strategic leadership and direction for all underground mining operations.
Drive a culture of safety, operational excellence, and cost efficiency across all sites.
Lead the engineering and production teams to ensure optimal performance and output.
Partner with executive leadership to support long-term growth, innovation, and risk mitigation strategies.
Design and implement key performance indicators (KPIs), operational plans, and business strategies.
Ensure that all operations comply with relevant mining legislation, workplace health and safety standards, and industry regulations.
Build and lead high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

What Do You Need?:

Bachelor's Degree
Minimum 15 years’ experience in underground mining, with at least 5 years at an executive or senior leadership level
Strong technical understanding of underground mining methods, ventilation, and geotechnical practices
