SUMMARY:
We require a Civil Design Technologist within the engineering sector. It is imperative that you are Registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineering Technician/Technologist.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12
Engineering Diploma / Degree
10 years experience
Registered with ECSA
Labour Intensive Construction NQF level 5 or 7
Understanding GCC, FIDIC, NEC, JBCC
Understanding of the OHS Act and Construction Regulations
AutoCAD, Civil Designer, MS Office literate

Duties and Responsibilities:

Support the engineering team to meet project deadlines and budgets.
Provide technical guidance to CAD designers, drafters, and junior engineers/technologists/technicians.
Perform and verify calculations, specify equipment, and solve complex engineering problems.
Check and verify designs completed by junior team members.
Contribute to the preparation of technical proposals, feasibility studies, options analysis, and master planning.
Manage and direct design teams.
Lead design teams on specific project components.
Liaise with clients.
Process survey and site investigation information.
Apply general drawing control practices.
Prepare Bills of Quantities, cost estimates, and lifecycle costs.
Develop and review specifications, including design criteria.
Prepare procurement documents.
Write formal reports and present work professionally.
Understand industry codes, standards, client specifications, and client expectations.
Understand relevant legislation and regulations.
Compile project documentation.
Analyze and solve moderately complex problems aligned with organizational and project objectives.
