POSITION INFO:
Client is looking for Clerk of works in Musina, mining experience will be advantageous.

Responsibilities:

• Making sure that the work is carried out to CLIENT/S’s standard, specification, correct material, workmanship, and schedule.
• Making visual inspections and audit reports.
• Taking measurements and samples on site to make sure that the work and the material meet the specifications and quality standards.
• Having a working knowledge of health and safety legislation and bringing any shortfalls observed to the attention of the Construction Manager.
• Develop, implement and manage control measures for quality.
• Verify details of testing requirements with the Principal Agent and ensure the Contractor is fully aware of these. Witness tests if necessary and review results.
• Conduct regular site audits and provide feedback to the Construction Manager.
• Facilitate and ensure that construction activities follow the predetermined schedule, critically monitor project milestones, and escalate critical areas and delays.
• Develop and implement project work plans with the Construction Manager and make revisions as and when need arises
• Develop and implement an effective communication system and provide timely feedback for management and client.
• Attend site, design and project meetings and action site meeting minutes and action plans.
• Compile and issue timely weekly project reports for the Construction Manager and Management with a focus on the general progress of work, labour force, weather and detailed reports on incidents, unusual circumstances and information required from CLIENT/S

Experience required

• Grade 12 / Matric = NQF level
• A relevant Discipline Qualification(Civil,Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation)
• Minimum 3 years of work experience in mining operations as a Clerk of works
• Sound knowledge of the mining industry (underground and/or opencast) is essential.
• Knowledge of relevant Acts regarding infrastructure development including Health and Safety
