SUMMARY:
We are seeking a skilled Contracts Buyer to join our client's team in the North West.

You will be responsible for contract management, procurement, and overseeing the tender process.

If you have a strong understanding of the mining sector and possess excellent skills in logistics, we would like to hear from you.

Mining industry experience is essential for this position.

POSITION INFO:

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To increase contract coverage and automation by preparing and facilitating the administration of contracts, in accordance with the company's prescribed policies and procedures, for the procurement of goods and services that meet site specific requirements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

To implement sourcing strategies to support business through contracting with suppliers for site specific goods and services requirements
To identify and implement total cost ownership reduction opportunities at the specific company site
To prepare, coordinate, and adjudicate site specific tenders
To identify and implement procurement contract coverage opportunities for the specific company operation
To drive and facilitate continuous improvement in all aspects of contracts implementation and administration at the company site
To participate in Strategic Sourcing Initiatives
To increase BEE spends
To increase contract spend and automation
To ensure the implementation of contract life-cycle management
To compile management reports
To liaise with end-users / customers regarding contract/procurement requirements
Related risk mitigation management
To ensure that contracts modifications/ amendments are implemented timeously by the Contracts Administrators, and are maintained accordingly

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

Transactional Procurement

Ensuring that buyers are aware of existing contracts, to avoid unnecessary non-contract spend
Facilitating contracts price maintenance in SAP
Conduct expediting activities where required and manage supplier delivery
Ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures
Manage contracted suppliers’ SLAs to ensure supplier compliance to contract

End User Communication

Assist End Users in linking purchase requisitions to contracts where applicable
Establish and maintain regular order-related communication with internal customers
Respond to End Users ‘contract related queries
Explain company procurement policies and procedures relating to contract to End Users

Administration

Assist the Commodity Specialist and Contracts Co-ordinator with any contracts administration related issues
Maintain contracts documentation to ensure an audit trail, and ensure that contracts documentations are kept up to date
Ensure that contracts SLAs are maintained and adhered to by all stakeholders

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

BCom (Commerce) or National Diploma (Procurement/Logistics/Supply Chain Management)

EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES:

Mining industry experience is essential for this position
Minimum of two years’ experience in contracts life-cycle management
Experience with relevant software: SAP, MS suite and database management
