Contracts/FIDIC Engineer

SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking an experienced Estimating / Contracts Manager to join their dynamic infrastructure team. As a key leader in their pre-construction department, you will be responsible for overseeing the estimating function, ensuring accurate cost projections, and supporting the business in securing profitable projects. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in construction estimation and leadership experience.

Duties:

• Lead and manage the estimating team, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in all tendering activities.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, and overheads.
• Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documents to determine project requirements.
• Work closely with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather pricing information and negotiate costs.
• Develop and implement best practices and cost-control measures for estimating.
• Present estimates and tender submissions to senior management and stakeholders.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, pricing, and innovations in construction methods.
• Mentor and train Junior Estimators, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

• Civil or Quantity Surveying Degree.
• Professional registration.
• Proven experience as an Estimating/Contracts Manager or Senior Estimator within the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing.
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, CostX, or similar tools).
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Relevant Degree or qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
