Control & Instrumentation Engineer (Mining Projects) – Sandton

SUMMARY:
The incumbent will be responsible for designing, developing, installing, managing and/or maintaining equipment which is used to monitor and control engineering systems, machinery and processes.

POSITION INFO:
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES:
Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Engineering,
Relevant post graduate qualifications albeit technical, management or business related could be advantageous.


Experience:
Minimum of 5 year experience within the project engineering environment.
At least 2 years Plant Commissioning experience

Knowledge required:
PLC’s programming and fault diagnostics.
Instrumentation calibration and fault finding.
Instrumentation specification.
Control system specification.
Understanding of P&ID’s and PFD’s
In depth understanding of networks and communication protocols
Budgeting principles and control.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards.
Planning, design, specification, costing, procurement, reporting, construction, commissioning and handover on Electrical system packages.
Provide technical leadership and collaborating with all inter-dependent project disciplines.
Management of suppliers and sub-contractors.
Maintain the ECSA professional registration and manage own development.
Liaising with clients, suppliers, contractors and relevant authorities.
Project management to provide a quality deliverable within cost and time constrained environments.
