The primary function of the role is that of Air & Ocean Forwarding Sales for new business. The FSM is responsible for growing the Air & Ocean Forwarding new business volumes in/out of South Africa in conjunction with Trade Lane & global partners. Managing, implementing and coordinating new business forwarding business opportunities in South Africa in conjunction with Trade Lane. The role requires close cooperation with Company Trade Lane Development team in developing identified new business opportunities and potential emerging markets. This position reports to the National Commercial Manager, and requires achievement of specific new business growth targets in Air & Ocean Forwarding.

Secondary Education: Matric (Grade 12)

Tertiary Education: B Degree or relevant Post Graduate Qualification

Years of experience required: At least 5 to 10 years Sales Experience in the International Freight Forwarding Industry.

Specific experience required: Strong sales experience and ideally has worked in a business development role. Solid working knowledge of sales, business development and planning and management. Track record in International Freight Forwarding and Clearing.

Level of computer literacy: Intermediate full MS Office, CRM capabilities and Cargo wise (CW) experience will be a plus

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Management • Prepare, Collate and Present the monthly numbers to the FM. • Review actuals against budget on a monthly basis. • Prepare, Collate and present the business unit forecasts: Income statements, Capital Budgets • Prepare, Consolidate and Distribute monthly management report to the FM: Flash and Management Accounts • Review General Ledger Reconciliations and consolidate. • Complete quarterly statutory packs in consolidated format • Complete quarterly TAX Compilations in consolidated format • Compile bi-annual and annual financial statements in consolidated format. • Liaise with FM in relation to report requirements. • Assist with all other reasonable adhoc tasks. Financial Compliance and Operational Auditing • Ensure Compliance with Policies and Procedures • Liaise with all parties related to compliance, auditing and or financial management. • Support Financial Managers and CFO with operational financial aspects. • Review the internal audit status update. Quarterly board packs • Assist with the compilation of the quarterly board packs. • Assist with the submission of info pieces in the packs. Capital expenditure. • Facilitate the internal process for all capital expenditure for all plants, branches etc. • Ensure signatories are done in time of the expected capex. • Ensure effective and accurate record keeping at all times. • Update and maintain the asset. MINIMUN REQUIREMENTS

• Responsible for the effective management and supervision of the Purchasing team (5) comprising Buyers, Demand Planner, Master Data & Logistics

• Drive team to achieve & maintain Fill Rate for stocked lines at or above agreed KPI’s by ensuring effective replenishment through consistent open order book management.

• Ensure Freight costs are managed to optimise costs for the supply chain, working with the European Freight team & EMEA Customs Specialist to implement Best Practice policies and ensure Commodity Classifications & INCO terms are accurately maintained.

• Develop internal relationships, influencing key internal customers to promote professional purchasing principals across the business ensuring timely communication and problem resolution.

• Define, develop, and provide regular reporting as required Including Key Performance Metrics for supply chain management.

• Develop Best Practice Guidelines and ensure Training Matrix is managed to bring all direct reports to the highest level of skill set required for their role and that all Playbooks are in line with current needs to meet the business objectives.

The Financial Manager is responsible for the overall management of the company’s finances internal controls and stator and company reporting. This includes the financial stability of the company by maintaining accurate an up to date financial information as well as identifying cost saving and efficiency opportunities through analysis and reporting on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
