SUMMARY:
A leading luxury game reserve is hiring a highly capable and qualified Diesel Mechanic to join its operations team. This position is crucial in ensuring the ongoing performance and safety of all diesel-powered vehicles and machinery used in the daily functioning of the lodge and conservation area.
You’ll be responsible for servicing and repairing a fleet that includes Land Cruisers, tractors, water pumps, and backup generators. This is a hands-on role ideal for a skilled tradesman who enjoys bush life and takes pride in maintaining equipment to the highest standard.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct routine and preventative maintenance on diesel vehicles and equipment
Diagnose mechanical faults and perform repairs efficiently
Maintain accurate service records and order necessary parts and consumables
Monitor wear and tear and implement proactive maintenance schedules
Ensure that all vehicles are safe, clean, and ready for guest use
Support the broader reserve operations team where necessary

Requirements:

Qualified Diesel Mechanic with Trade Test Certificate
Minimum 3 years’ experience working on 4x4 vehicles and heavy-duty equipment
Experience with Land Cruisers, Massey Ferguson tractors, water pumps, and generators is advantageous
Self-motivated and resourceful with a strong safety mindset
Physically fit and able to work in outdoor, remote environments
Valid driver’s license essential
