Introduction
A leading construction/ mining company based in Midrand are looking to recruit a Driver to join their team.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. GENERAL DUTIES
1.1 Computer Literate Excel, Word, Outlook.
1.2 Compliance with specific safety procedures, documents and instruction to ensure a safe work environment.
1.3 Compliance with Quality Management system, its policies and processes.
1.4 Compliance with company policies and procedures.
1.5 Ensure the promotion of customer focus throughout the orangisation.
1.6 To perform any other reasonable and lawful duties which may be required dependent upon the urgent need or demand of the company.
2. SPECIFIC DUTIES
2.1 Implement and follow procedures directly relating to your job description.
2.2 General duties include driving the company vehicle to deliver/collect equipment, parts, stock items, material and any other assigned instruction.
2.3 Observe speed limits and obey all traffic rules and regulations.
2.4 Performing simple vehicle maintenance (i.e. taking vehicle for inspections, filling tires with air, checking oil levels, fuel etc).
2.5 Maintain assigned vehicles and ensure that they are clean inside and outside.
2.6 Ensuring that safety procedures are followed (no lifts given to unauthorized people).
2.7 Inform manager of any vehicle problems.
2.8 Follow safe working procedures.
2.9 Be presentable at all times.
2.10 Ensure delivery log and relative documents are handed daily to Store Manager or Storeman.
2.10 Ensure that all documentation is handled correctly.
2.11 Ensure that loads are correctly stacked and secured on the vehicle or trailer.
2.12 Maintain driver log as per company procedure (i.e. kilometers and petrol / diesel / oil receipts).
2.13 Assist with stock count as and when required.
2.14 General assistance in the stores as and when required.
2.15 Assisting in loading and off-loading of delivery vehicles/trailers.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Code 10 or Code 14 + PDP
- Must be able to get to work by 07:00 – without any issues – cannot be late. So maybe live near/around Midrand area.
- Must be able to pull/reverse/park/load a huge trailer.
- Will be required to drive the staff taxi bus (therefore PDP).
- Will be required to drive to the Sites = Lephalale, Kusile, Middelburg etc.
- Will be required to work overtime during the week if needed. Will also be required to work overtime on the weekend – delivering equipment to sites.
Package & Remuneration
