SUMMARY:
Our client, a global leader in the mining industry, is looking for an experienced Human Resources Superintendent to lead HR operations at their Smelter plant in the DRC. This is a key expat role overseeing end-to-end HR delivery, workforce planning, compliance, and people leadership in a high-performance environment.

POSITION INFO:

Requirements:

Degree in HR, Labour Science, or related field
8–10 years’ senior HR experience in mining/heavy industry (Smelter experience preferred)
Strong knowledge of DRC labour legislation and community dynamics
Fluent in English (French, Mandarin, or Swahili is a plus)
Strong leadership, cultural sensitivity, and problem-solving skills
Must have a laptop, printer, and own vehicle

Key Focus Areas:

Lead and align all HR operations with labour law, site requirements, and company values
Develop and execute recruitment and labour plans
Manage labour budgets, remuneration decisions, and reporting
Oversee leave, time & attendance systems, and digital HR transitions
Handle employee movements: promotions, demotions, transfers, and exits
Build strong stakeholder relationships and lead a team of HR professionals
Ensure compliance with HSEQ and support transformation initiatives
