POSITION INFO:
Electrical/C&I Technician
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspect and maintain plant and equipment to meet operational requirements.
- Ensure routine maintenance as per planned schedules.
- Locate, and rectify electrical faults on plants and equipment.
- Ability to update or install complete wiring system within code requirements.
- Replace, repair and maintain electrical systems including troubleshoot of it.
- Keep records of electrical equipment such as motors service history
- Run diagnostic tests, make adjustments to ensure machinery operates at optimal performance using diagnostic equipment, software and complex solving skills.
- Comply with industry health, safety and environmental working practices and regulations.
- Read, understand and interpret information and work in a compliance with technical specifications and supporting documentation of equipment suppliers, such as electrical and electronic circuit blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
- Prepare work areas to undertake work related activities and reinstate those areas after completion of the work-related activities
- Communicate, handover and confirm that the appropriate maintenance process has been completed to specification.
- Advising management on continued use of unsuitable equipment, appliances, and apparatus.
Desired Experience & Qualification
QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma or similar qualification in Electrical, C&I, Technical discipline.
EXPERIENCE
- At least 5 years'' post apprenticeship or millwright experience in a similar environment.
- First principles relating to the operation and maintenance of appropriate plant and equipment.
- Relevant industry health and safety standards, regulations, and environmental and regulatory requirements.
- Maintenance and operational practices, processes and procedures covering a range of plant and equipment.
- Excellent fault finding and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of PLC systems, SCADA, and HMIs.
- Knowledge of HV/LV Switchgears.
- Experience in Variable speed drives.
- Signal exchange (Profibus, MPI, IFM etc.)
- Good communication skills.
- Advanced computer literate (MS Office).
