JOB SUMMARY:

An established international manufacturer of agricultural chemicals is seeking a dynamic Engineering Manager to join the Site Leadership Team, to provide leadership, define and implement strategic initiatives and objectives, use engineering and maintenance principles and expertise to support the overall site objectives and support implementation of the site plans.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Minimum requirements for the role:

Must have a BSc. Eng or BEng Degree
PrEng or Government Certificated Engineer (GCE) would be an advantage
Sound knowledge of OHSA Act and Legal Liability, including ISO 45001, 14001 and 9001 standards, is important
Experience in a global organisation and matrix reporting environment is essential
Must be familiar with the principles and concepts of Lean Manufacturing
Proficiency on computer systems (MS office etc.) within a Maximo and / or SAP PM environment is important

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Creating appropriate engineering and maintenance strategies covering mechanical, electrical, control & instrumentation disciplines.
Ensuring the asset integrity (including statutory requirements) and sustained business use in a safe and efficient manner.
Defining, implementing and continuously improving the department and capabilities and capacity.
Enabling effective identification and management of risk scenarios and HSE&Q risks on site, including potential tolling and contractor activities.
Driving and cultivating a Continuous Improvement culture by leading improvement initiatives and building improvement capabilities.
Driving action management within the department to ensure alignment and progression on all tasks and initiatives across the site and departments.
Developing and training of the site engineering team.
Mitigating risk to business, people or the environment through continuity and sustainability of expertise in local / statutory requirements.
Driving HSE occupational and process safety, maintaining a sustainable high-level HSE&Q performance and the integration of HSE&Q considerations within all existing and new operations and activities.
Identifying hazards and ensuring controls are implemented before commencing with any task and ensuring proficiency before undertaking the task.
Taking responsibility as an OHSA 16.2, 8.2.i appointee, OHSA GMR 2.1 appointee, HSE Committee Management representative and member of Site Emergency Management Team.
Leading, managing and implementing the departmental functional strategy within the site to ensure legal and internal compliance, maintaining a sustainable high-level HSE&Q performance and the integration of HSE&Q considerations within all existing and new operations and activities.
Managing daily engineering and maintenance activities, including compiling, measuring, monitoring and control of departmental objectives, in-house and contractor resources, plans and performance targets, ensuring a strong degree of co-operation across site departments to ensure high levels of customer service and responsiveness. Ensure appropriate KPI reporting.
Predicting change and flex resource levels to manage replacement in kind, shut downs and business fluctuations.
Supporting process optimisation, de-bottlenecking and continuous improvement activities by implementing sustainable methodologies and ways of working.
Developing applicable departmental documentation ensuring compliance to the Site and Company global requirements, local legislation, ISO/Integrated Management System (IMS) methodologies and best practices.
Initiating, contributing to, facilitating and executing projects (including capital projects) in order to achieve medium and long term production objectives and strategic needs.
Assessing fixed, variable and capital cost performance in line with agreed budgets and targets.
Liaising with the Regional Engineering Manager and Regional Maintenance Manager to ensure efficient use of engineering resources.
Ensuring that process, product and organizational changes, are effectively managed and conforming to requirements to ensure changes meet design intent and achieve site strategy including following MOC and engineering project processes.
Maintaining and controlling the Safety Critical Equipment of the Site.

Salary package is highly negotiable depending on experience
