External Sales Rep / Branch Supervisor

Our prominent client, a much-respected brand in the Hardware Wholesale & Retail sector, is seeking to employ an experienced and dynamic External Sales Rep / Branch Supervisor to join their Port Elizabeth team.

Salary: R20 000 per month + commission + company car, and fuel card. 

Requirements:

Responsibilities:

• The Branch Manager is responsible for the protection of the company assets at their delegated location.
• Align branch strategy to that of the greater group.
• Increase sales through planned strategies and follow through.
• Sign off every credit note and purchase order thus ensuring a knowledge of branch activities.
• Time management to include at least 30% of time at own sales portfolio, 30% at other reps and branch customers and 30% in store for admin and store sales.
• Responsible for ensuring the store is focused on a customer first philosophy and ready for business every day.
• Ensuring prompt serving of customers (Assist potential customers and maintain efficient relationships with current customers).
• Responsible for merchandising the floor and creating effective displays that are eye catching (cleanliness of store and display areas).
• Ordering stock (responsible for managing the levels of stock and making important decisions about controlling the stock) with assistance of other staff.
• Stock takes and inventory control, ensuring the correct quantities of the correct stock are always in stock.
• Minimise shrinkage through supply chain responsibilities and procedures.
• Convening team meetings and communicate/drive company strategy (Monitor work and maintain an efficient rapport between floor employee’s management and directors.).
• Supervising external sales, technical, internal sales staff and shop assistants who face the customer as well as the back office and support staff who work behind the scenes.
• Performing ad hoc tasks.
• Delegating workloads to staff.
• Assisting in other store operations when required.
• Prepare reports to track performance of employees to enhance efficient evaluation.
• Analyse and identify growth for all projects at workstations and ensure high quality service.
• Responsible for conducting appraisals and reviewing the performance of staff.
• Responsible for ensuring safety procedures are followed on the sales floor and work areas.
• Resolve customer complaints in a timely and satisfactory manner.
• Training and coaching/mentoring of staff.
• Manage link between branch staff and head office Human Resource department regarding, leave, absenteeism, staff performance etc.
• Ensuring branch admin packs to be sent to head office are prepared and delivered on time.
