JOB SUMMARY:
Our client in the Healthcare Insurance industry is currently seeking to employ a Financial Manager to join their team. The incumbent must have a minimum of 5 yearsâ post-article experience with at least 2 years of management experience. The candidate MUST have had experience in the Financial Service Industry. Please see the performance area criteria below.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Minimum Requirements:

BCom Accounting / BCom Honours or equivalent
Completed articles is extremely beneficial
A professional qualification is a bonus i.e., CIMA / CA(SA)
At least 5 years of experience in the finance function, with at least 2 years at manager level
Experience in the Financial Services industry
UNDERWRITER REPORTING EXPERIENCE IS IMPERATIVE

Main Performance Areas (Responsibilities) in summary - (not limited to):

Monthly management reporting
Monthly insurer underwriting reporting
Review and management of income statements, balance sheets and cash flows
Monthly premium collections and disbursements
Monthly allocations of premiums and premium splits on a beneficiary level
Monthly Reconciliation of payments to service providers and other vendors
Monthly statements and payments of commissions to brokers
Monthly VAT and EMP 201 calculations and submissions
Compliance with IFRS for SME’s and Income Tax Act
Preparations of budgets and forecasts
Internal and External Audits
Staff Management, motivation, and training
Manage internal financial controls
Create financial reports for premium, claim utilization, third party expenses
Other ad-hoc duties
