Financial Accountant

SUMMARY:
National group are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant will be responsible for checking, processing, and correction of transactions on the accounting system.  This includes regular reporting on financial results.  This position will be based in Reitz in the Free State

POSITION INFO:

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Prepare monthly management statements, variance reports, and reconciliations.
2. Maintain and correct allocations in the general ledger.
3. Monitor and manage cash flow and asset register, including asset acquisition procedures.
4. Prepare, review, and approve daily journals and EFTs.
5. Ensure accurate accounting in compliance with IFRS and SARS regulations.
6. Calculate and submit tax obligations via SARS eFiling.
7. Assist departments with the budgeting process on Solver and provide analytical support.
8. Support department heads with reporting and decision-making insights.
9. Contribute to the year-end process, including audit file preparation and liaison with external auditors.
10. Participate in finance-related projects, system upgrades, and provide user feedback.
11. Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance system efficiency.
12. Assist in implementing and maintaining internal financial policies and controls.

1. Relevant BCom degree with Accountancy.
2. Completed Articles (SAIPA or SAICA).
3. Three years + experience in a similar role
4. Relevant experience in a fast-paced environment, working both independently and as part of a team.
5. Advanced Excel skills.
6. Experience with Caseware and Business Central is advantageous.
7. Fluent in both Afrikaans and English (written and spoken).
8. Willingness to relocate to Reitz at own expense
