Position requires a qualified CA(SA) (not negotiable), who has 5 years Financial Controlling / Financial Management experience as well as exposure within large turnover organisations, specifically within FMCG / Manufacturing / Multi-National businesses. Manage 1-3 staff directly. Proven ability to work in a demanding and fast-paced environment. Report directly to the FD. Position requires a self-starter, who is a problem-solver, with cross-functional interaction as well as with operational finance experience.
Main responsibilities include but not limited to: Ensure that a proper financial and internal control environment is maintained; Ensure compliance with the company''s Minimum Financial control policies; Ensure that suitable controls are in place to prevent or detect material misstatements in the financial records of the entity; Create and upload MFC data; Review MFC data submitted to Finance; Ensure that the company complies with the requirements as set out in the Companies Act 2008 as well as any related legislation, including tax legislation; Completion of monthly and group reporting; Collect information and compile monthly management reports; Ensure timeous and accurate financial monthly results; Verify actual results for variances to previous reporting periods, or to identify inaccuracie; Ensure compliance with IFRS; Ensure that all ad-hoc group reporting requests are adhered to; Liaison with internal and external auditors; Investigate and follow-up on discrepancies of audit reports and reporting thereof to management; Management of the interim and annual external audit, including preparation and sign off of Annual Financial Statements; Compile detailed reports and escalate where needed; Develop in conjunction with stakeholders and an action plan to address findings and manage progress appropriately; Conduct follow up audits; Develop, formulate and implement audit policies and procedures in line with Group guidelines; Liaise with Group Internal auditors; Schedule planned and unplanned audits to review the following (but not exclusively): Financial controls; Financial processes; Internal reports, finance systems, and accounts; Purchase orders, Capex and reconciliations; Engage with stakeholders and internal departments on process and review; Overall management of tax compliance; Management of tax compliance for the organization; Improve processes and controls around compliance, to ensure ongoing adherence to legislation; Manage and conduct tax audits; Oversight of all tax-related reports and submissions including but not exclusive to PAYE, VAT, etc; Perform company taxation calculations; Analyse General ledger accounts for tax calculation purposes; Ensure compliance with existing policies and procedures; Reporting and submission of reports to internal revenue authorities; Prepare responses and address all tax-related queries; Review, preparation and submission of tax submissions to SARS; Investigate and address all deficiencies in reporting; Liaise with SARS officials and departments as required; Staff management and development; Ensure overall compliance of staff to financial procedures and policies; All team members have clearly defined job profiles aligned to manager profile; Regular goal review completed assessing achievement of results; Support, coaching and mentoring is continuously provided to ensure that objectives are met; Completed development plans for each employee; Appropriate allocation of resources to meet operational demands; Ensure that events/activities taking place in team are effectively communicated within the team and to other teams requiring the information; Ensure adequate succession plan to meet ongoing and anticipated business requirements; Budgeting and forecasting; Preparation of budgeted/forecasted numbers; Ensure that accurate budget/forecast templates are loaded in the system; Compilation of financial statements; Manage the maintenance of acceptable accounting records of the Financial transactions and results; Manage the provision of accurate and timeous monthly financial results pertaining to Financial accounting; Manage and provide Financial transaction reporting; Manage SARS compliance; Manage the performance of accurate and complete provisions and accruals; Ensure all financial controls are completed and signed off pertaining to Financial accounting; Ensure compliance to IFRS financial principles; Obtain sign-off on financial Statements; Liaise and work with external auditors to finalize annual financial statements; Head up project board to address outstanding issues, and manage an action plan to address problem areas; Liaise with relevant internal departments to provide the necessary documentation for the production of financial statements; Balance sheet reconciliation reviews for all entities; Prepare reports on progress as required; Health and Safety; Participate in the design/ development / review / implementation and monitoring of the departmental; safety plans for each year; Participate in safety forums created by the company for example safety meetings and safety talks; Report all safety incidents to the relevant people; Discuss all safety incidents; Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety meeting/committee/representative/management; Attend safety education and refresher programs; Comply with safety policies and procedures at the workplace; Distribute safety information as and when required; Wear protective clothing all the time.
