The Role: Financial Manager (Opco’s)
The successful candidate will report directly to the Group CFO and serve as a critical driver in managing the financial operations of multiple subsidiaries. They will take ownership of financial reporting, audits, stakeholder reporting, cash management, and regulatory compliance — all while leading a small finance team and collaborating closely with investment and operations leaders.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor the finance team, managing KPIs, workflows, and reviews

Prepare monthly management accounts and quarterly consolidated board packs across multiple legal entities

Own the full external audit cycle and ensure timely delivery of Annual Financial Statements

Ensure FSCA regulatory compliance and reporting for Alpha Wealth and Alpha Private Capital

Manage payroll processes, commissions, bi-annual bonuses, and related compliance

Oversee treasury and cash management, including offshore funds and currency hedging

Maintain strong relationships with bankers, auditors, insurers, and internal stakeholders

Coordinate tax submissions, SARB compliance, company secretarial duties, and financial policy implementation
Candidate Profile

Postgraduate accounting qualification preferred; professional registration with SAICA, CIMA, or SAIPA advantageous

2 to 5 years of experience in a similar financial management role with team leadership

Strong knowledge of IFRS, consolidation, multicurrency accounting, and regulatory requirements

Proficiency in Xero and Microsoft Excel is highly desirable

Exceptional planning, organizational, and communication skills

Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
