Financial Reporting Specialist - 6-month FTC

POSITION INFO:

A leading company in the manufacturing and processing sector is seeking a highly capable and detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join their Finance team on a 6-month contract. This role is ideal for a finance professional with a solid understanding of general ledger accounting, month-end processes, and financial reporting within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and close the month-end general ledger process for the site

• Prepare and process non-system journal entries

• Handle intercompany reconciliations and sub-ledger account analysis

• Perform balance sheet variance analysis and ensure timely reporting

• Generate trial balances and upload financials to reporting systems (e.g., Cognos)

• Prepare year-end reporting packs, tax packs, and assist with audit processes

• Maintain compliance with IFRS and the Companies Act

• Oversee asset capitalisation, disposals, and depreciation

• Drive internal financial controls and ensure audit findings are addressed

• Support cash counts, CCTV reconciliation, stock takes, and asset verification

• Collaborate cross-functionally to identify process improvements

• Prepare reports for stakeholder submissions including GHG and SARB

• Assist in driving month-end performance discussions

Minimum Requirements:

• BCom in Accounting / Finance (CA(SA) advantageous)

• 7+ years' experience in finance

• 2–3 years’ experience in a financial management or general accounting role

• Previous experience in the FMCG or manufacturing sector

• Strong understanding of IFRS, general ledger accounting, and reporting standards

• High attention to detail and the ability to manage tight deadlines

• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders across all levels

• Proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Excel
