Flatbed Supervisor

POSITION INFO:

Job Purpose:

To oversee the daily operations of the flatbed production line, ensuring efficient output, machine uptime, and quality standards are met in alignment with the production plan.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure production orders are completed according to the daily and weekly production plan.
• Monitor and drive team performance to consistently meet or exceed daily production targets.
• Supervise and coordinate activities of machine operators on the flatbed line.
• Oversee machinery cleaning schedules and ensure cleanliness and compliance with factory standards.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure all machines are routinely serviced and operational, preventing breakdowns and downtime.
• Identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies and implement corrective actions in consultation with the Production Manager.
• Maintain proper records of production, downtime, and operator performance.
• Enforce safety, housekeeping, and operational procedures on the production floor.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Hands-on knowledge of flatbed machinery and general production processes
• Ability to interpret and execute production plans
• Basic mechanical understanding to support maintenance coordination
• Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality control

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

• Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent
• Minimum 2–3 years experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment
• Technical training or background in textiles or machinery is advantageous
