JOB DESCRIPTION:

REQUIREMENTS

  • Matric, Bachelor’s degree or higher in Human Resource Management
  • Minimum 5-10 years’ work experience in a relevant human resources position
  • Energetic attitude with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to successfully interact with multicultural and cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint ESSENTIAL
  • System driven and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Exceptional organisation and time management skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels
  • In-depth knowledge of Labour law and HR best practices
  • Proven knowledge in industrial relations management, CCMA disputes, disciplinary hearings, etc.
  • English (Read, write & speak)


DUTIES

  • Implementing company initiatives in order to constantly better the organisation
  • Ensure the Human Capital strategy is developed, approved, and implemented within the company business strategy
  • Develop policies based on the strategy of the organisation and manage implementation
  • Support cross-organisational working practices
  • Protects the interests of employees and the company in accordance with company Human Capital policies and governmental laws and regulations

Compliance & Labour Law
  • Lead company compliance with all existing governmental and legal reporting requirements – EEA, SDA, OSHA & the Department of Labour, worker compensation
  • Managing risks by being complaint with SA labour laws and recommendations
  • Handle labour disputes / issues that employees may have, on site or in Head Office
  • Staying abreast of all labour legislation and evolving needs of organisation & employees
  • Direct the preparation of information requested or required for compliance with laws

Recruitment, training, development, and retention
  • Ensures competitive market research is conducted to establish pay correct practices
  • Ensures that the hiring and recruitment process is based on best practice standards
  • Develop and ensures the execution of company’s on-boarding programme
  • Determine, engage & source the most suitable vendors to provide HR services
  • Ensure new employees are trained and orientated
  • Collecting and analysing employee data and developing employee retaining strategies
  • Promote the professional development of the team and facilitates and ongoing performance management
  • Monitor the Employee Wellness Programme Strategy and Implementation Plan
  • Identify relevant training and key development opportunities
  • Determine/recommend employee engagement practices to establish a positive employer-employee relationship promoting a high level of employee morale/motivation

Administration
  • Reporting on costs and future initiatives
  • To some extent being involved with payroll enquiries
  • Compile reports and presentations where necessary
  • Ensure effective implementation and use of all HR related systems and processes within the business, as well as via third party suppliers
  • Manages and monitors the services (including SLAs) provided by vendors
  • Addresses instances of under or non-performance of service providers
  • Manages and review HR metrics, and provides monthly updates to the HCCM
  • Monitor all pay practices and systems for effectiveness and cost containment
  • Put processes in place to support accurate labour reporting and audit operations
