IT Support / Service Delivery Manager (CH858)

Our client in the Wine Farming and Hospitality industry is looking for a an IT Support/Service Delivery Manager to join their team. The position is part of the growth strategy of the company. The ideal candidate will take full responsibility for the IT function from Desktop support to engaging with outsourced service providers for Networks, Servers, and Databases.

The IT Support / Service Delivery Manager reports directly to the CFO and is responsible for managing and improving all aspects of the company’s core IT infrastructure, maintaining SLAs with service providers, and defining and building on the broader IT strategy.

We are looking for an individual who is experienced and knowledgeable in Microsoft platforms and Microsoft 365, understands networking, security, databases, servers, and applications.

Most importantly, we are looking for someone with a genuine passion for technology and the application of technology, someone who is smart enough to upgrade capabilities, humble enough to provide desktop support, hungry to learn a wide array of technologies, responsible enough to manage all service providers and bold enough to try new things.

Key Responsibilities

The IT Manager will be responsible for the following:

• Microsoft365 Support and Maintenance
• Maintain all SLAs with all service providers providing core IT services, e.g.:
  • Internet and network providers
  • Managed Service Providers
  • Application Service Providers:
    • Sage 300 Payroll
    • Nav Dynamics (ERP)
  • MS Outlook
  • VOIP systems
  • Public websites
  • MS Teams
  • SharePoint
  • Veeam (Backup & Disaster Recovery)
  • SQL Servers
• Help evaluate and enlist new service providers
• Maintain uptime and security of all internal services
• Monitor and report on platforms, networks, and security
• Ensure backups are running and critical systems are redundant
• Administering Windows Servers and Active Directory
• Assist the CFO in decision making and strategy
• Should be able to manage OpEx and CapEx budgets for the IT area

Additionally, the following experience will be beneficial:

• Networking skills including VPNs
• Network Security and Firewalls
• Virtualisation

Candidate Profile Description Requirements

We are looking for a well-rounded individual, for whom values are important. The ideal candidate:

• 5+ years’ experience in a formal IT role
• Tertiary / professional IT qualification

• Not beneath doing desktop support to help someone out
• Willing to take ownership of the role, projects, and infrastructure
• Keen to learn new skills and apply them diligently
• A team player.
• Professional in the way they communicate to colleagues, clients, and suppliers.
• Needs to be able to be able to understand and preferably speak Afrikaans.

General Working conditions

• Offices are currently in Stellenbosch but will relocate to Black River Park (Cape Town Southern Suburbs on 1 March 2023)
• Work hours are between 08h00 and 17h00 (Flexible)
• The nature of IT support does imply that support hours could occur outside of normal office hours
