SUMMARY:
Large Hotel in Bantry Bay seeks an experienced & innovative IT Technician.
As the IT Technician you will provide technical support and maintenance for a hotel's computer systems, networks and other technologies.
This includes troubleshooting hardware and software issues, installing and configuring systems and ensuring the smooth operation of all IT-related aspects of the hotel. You will also assist staff and guests with IT-related problems and maintain documentation of system configurations and repairs.

Duties:
Providing Technical Support: responding to user requests, diagnosing and resolving hardware and software problems and offering assistance to both staff and guests.
System Maintenance: installing, configuring, and maintaining computer systems, networks, servers, printers and other IT equipment.
Troubleshooting: identifying and resolving issues related to internet connectivity, email, security systems and other IT infrastructure.
Security: ensuring the security of computer systems by installing and updating antivirus and firewall software.
Documentation: maintaining accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and system configurations.
System Upgrades: assisting with the implementation of new systems and services, including software and hardware upgrades.
Network Management: managing and maintaining the hotel's network infrastructure, including Wi-Fi and wired connections.
Collaboration: working with other departments and vendors to resolve complex IT issues and ensure the smooth operation of all systems.
Other duties:
Setting up and maintaining guest Wi-Fi and internet access.
Troubleshooting issues with room TVs and their connection to the internet.
Ensuring card machines are functional and can process payments.
Programming and maintaining hotel room access cards.
Managing IT equipment in conference rooms.
Ensuring security camera footage is stored securely.
Maintaining records of repairs, fixes, and maintenance schedules.
Repairing or replacing damaged hardware.
Conducting daily backup operations.
Requirements:
Grade 12
CompTIA A+ certification
Computer Technician NQF Level 5 / N+ or other relevant qualifications
At least 3+ years of experience in IT support and systems maintenance.
Familiarity with VoIP phone systems, IP and coaxial security camera systems, and understanding of HIPAA and/or CJIS compliance.
Knowledge of Routers and Switches
Networking Knowledge
Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, networks, and operating systems (Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.).
Ability to diagnose and resolve technical problems effectively.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with users and document issues.
Ability to identify problems, develop solutions, and implement them effectively.
Ability to provide excellent service to both staff and guests.
