JOB SUMMARY:
Our client is looking for an IT Technician (Senior) in the Retail Sector, Northwest, Rustenburg Area.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The successful candidate will have to meet the following minimum requirements.

Matric
A+, N+, MCITP/MCTS, MCSA Qualifications
Must have own reliable transport.
Fully bilingual in Afrikaans/English

Duties will include but not be limited to:

Assist with the installation, configuration and on-going usability of desktop computers, peripheral equipment and software.
The position responsibility requires independent analyses, communication and problem solving.
To Progress/close incidents to satisfactory conclusion on the incident system
Works with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems.
Ensure Desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems.
Work with procurement staff to purchase hardware and software.
Assesses functional needs to determine specifications for purchases.
Maintain Telephone systems.
To provide a mentor and training role to co-workers
Assist PC Users on the Network locally and remotely with the day-to-day IT problems and tasks – up to 40 Users.
Assist with Microsoft PC Network and printer related problems.
Installation and configuration of new use P C, Mobile phone and 3G devices
Maintaining and ordering of copier consumables and service fault logging/tracking on behalf of customer
PC Maintenance
PC hardware fault finding and support
Software support
Network installation and setup
Printer support
PC setup
Ensuring correct software is loaded onto the user’s machine before delivery
Desktop Support on site
Format and Reload of user machines, ensuring all user data is backed up and secured before format
Install, configure and support all Microsoft desktop operating systems.
Install, configure and support all Microsoft and other application software (desktop).
General hardware installation and troubleshooting (desktop).
General troubleshooting on all IT related equipment.
Respond to and resolve support calls at customer sites.
Remote administration of workstations.
Responding to monitoring system alerts.
Resolve support calls via remote connection (desktop).
Complete desktop configuration documentation for client sites.
Execute orders and follow up service and repairs with external suppliers.
Identify possible risks or problems and escalate to senior engineer.
Collect and deliver stock when required.
