SUMMARY:
A dynamic South African investment company with a diversified portfolio in both public and private markets is seeking a detail-oriented Export & Import Controller to oversee and optimize our international and local trade operations. Our business model revolves around acquiring and managing high-potential businesses and strategically allocating financial and human capital to drive long-term value.

POSITION INFO:
ð Export & Import Controller (National & International Trade)
ð Location: Gauteng Eastgate
ð Start Date: ASAP
ð¼ Full-Time | Competitive Salary

Key Responsibilities:

Manage end-to-end import and export logistics for goods across national and international markets.
Ensure full compliance with SARS customs regulations, permits, and international trade laws.
Liaise with freight forwarders, clearing agents, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely shipment and delivery.
Monitor and maintain documentation (invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, CoO, etc.).
Coordinate with internal investment teams and portfolio companies to ensure supply chain and trade efficiency.
Track and report on costing, duty rates, rebates, tariffs, and HS codes.
Resolve customs and shipping delays and handle exception management professionally.

Requirements:

Proven experience as an Import/Export Controller (5+ years preferred).
In-depth knowledge of customs procedures, shipping regulations, and trade compliance.
Experience working with international markets and multi-country logistics.
Strong organizational, negotiation, and communication skills.
Proficiency in import/export software and Microsoft Office.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.

Preferred:

Experience working within an investment holding company or across multiple business units.
Familiarity with SAP, CargoWise, or similar logistics platforms.
