Infrastructure Engineer

SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking a skilled Infrastructure Engineer with a strong background in networking, systems support, and infrastructure maintenance across both on-premise and cloud environments. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, security, and optimisation of IT infrastructure, including performance monitoring, server and network support, and responding to technical issues across cloud and on-site systems.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide first-line to third-line infrastructure support.
• Maintain and enhance network, server, and storage infrastructure.
• Administer firewalls, routing/switching, DNS/DHCP, and Active Directory (including Azure AD).
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot outages, and apply necessary upgrades.
• Manage Windows Server environments (2016–2022), including builds in Hyper-V and Azure.
• Collaborate with vendors and service providers to ensure uptime and reliability.
• Maintain security best practices aligned with ISO 27001, PCI DSS, and Cyber Essentials.
• Participate in disaster recovery, backup, antivirus, and business continuity planning.
• Document systems, processes, and configurations.
• Support on-call duties as part of a rotating shift (includes nights/weekends).

Required Skills & Experience:

• 4–5 years in an infrastructure or systems engineering role
• Strong knowledge of firewall/router technologies and network security concepts
• Proficiency with Windows Server (2016–2022) and Windows 11
• Experience with Active Directory (multi-site and Azure AD), DNS/DHCP
• Hands-on experience with monitoring and diagnostic tools
• Experience supporting on-prem and Azure-hosted environments
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues independently

• Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco)
• Experience with customer service or BPO environments
