SUMMARY:
A multinational insurance and reinsurance brokerage, with operations across Africa and globally, is looking to grow their finance team. Known for their dynamic environment and complex international structures, they offer a unique opportunity for finance professionals to gain valuable exposure and experience.

POSITION INFO:
They are looking to appoint a Junior Accountant to support their Johannesburg-based finance team. The role will involve assisting with day-to-day accounting tasks across multiple group entities, including insurance, reinsurance, and investment-related businesses. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their accounting career who is eager to learn, take ownership of responsibilities, and grow within a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities:

Capture and process financial transactions in Pastel Partner across several entities
Perform bank reconciliations (including multi-currency accounts)
Assist with loading payments and managing online banking transactions
Support the month-end close process and journal entries
Help with forex revaluations and basic financial reporting
Assist with preparing Bordereaux and reconciliations for underwriter payments
Work closely with other teams to ensure accurate system integration and financial records
Provide support during audits and year-end procedures
Carry out administrative finance tasks, including payslip distribution and basic debtor follow-ups

Candidate Profile:

A relevant Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
1–3 years of work experience in an accounting or finance support role
Experience using accounting software, ideally Pastel Partner
High attention to detail and eagerness to learn
Strong organisational and communication skills
Ability to work well under pressure and adapt in a growing, international business
