SUMMARY:
Well-established Manufacturing company based in Bellville South, is seeking to recruit a Junior Buyer. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Senior Manager Procurement and Project Accountant.

POSITION INFO:
Well-established Manufacturing company based in Bellville South, is seeking to recruit a Junior Buyer. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Senior Manager Procurement and Project Accountant.

Responsibilities (not limited to):

Following up with suppliers regarding orders placed.
Confirm with suppliers’ stock is available for purchase.
Create purchase orders to purchase policy from requisitions.
Update open purchase order list.
Ensure requisitions is completed before the purchase order is created and the necessary approvals are in place.
Update scrap material spreadsheet.
Record all scrap material which has been removed from the premises.
Obtain quotes from suppliers for specific stock.
Liaise with order originators regarding supplier quotes and obtain approval from Senior Management/Directors is per policy.
Investigate different pricing of invoices received from suppliers against purchase orders created and there relevant requisitions from order originators.
Attend daily production meetings
Engage with order originators regarding goods arrival and late arrival.
Engage and collaborate with Finance and the various stores on purchase orders and requirements.

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 /Matric Certificate
Business Management Diploma/N6 Certificate in business management or supply chain management.
1-3 years within the procurement / buyer department will be advantageous
Competent with Microsoft office
Knowledge of purchasing acquisition cycle.
