POSITION INFO:

A career opportunity exists at RTG TECHNICAL SERVICES, DURBAN (Reinhardt Transport Group) for the position of:

JUNIOR DIESEL MECHANIC

Job Summary (not limited to)

1. Carry out services, repairs, preventative and corrective maintenance on various trucks and trailers daily, as per the OEM specifications.
2. Diagnose and repair issues on SAF, BPW and SATruck suspensions, hydraulics, brakes, electrical and other systems.
3. Attend to breakdowns on the flatdeck, sidetipper, tautliner and refrigeration trailers when required.
4. Inspection of trailers before/after work is performed, also carry out quality checks daily (known as 15-minute checks)
5. Completion of job cards with correct information as per the job instruction issued.
6. Maintain a high level of technical serviceability of the trailer section by quality work in conjunction with the ISO standards.
7. Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, public holidays and do standby duties as required and responsible for timely prioritization of al request and effective solutions in conjunction with the Workshop Manager.

Requirement:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in this specific field working on trucks and trailers including but not limited to: Volvo, Scania, Mercedes, Afrit, Henred and GRW
• Must have welding experience
• Valid driver’s license (applicants without a driver’s license will not be considered)
• Own vehicle required to travel from home to work.
• Must reside in the DURBAN area
• Must be fluent in English and Afrikaans
