Junior Draughtsman

POSITION INFO:

Overview:
The Principal Draughtsman is responsible for overseeing the Drafting Division, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of estimates, bills of materials, construction, and as-built drawings. This role involves close collaboration with designers, engineers, and project managers to support project planning and execution.

Location: Airport Industrial, Cape Town

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the drafting team and workflow to meet project requirements.
Create and update technical drawings, including initial designs, construction, and as-built drawings.
Ensure all designs comply with industry regulations and project specifications.
Coordinate with engineers and project managers for design adjustments.
Prepare comprehensive Bills of Materials.
Maintain quality control and ensure accurate record-keeping of all drawings.
Train and guide junior draughtsmanand technicians.
Manage and organizedigital drawing folders efficiently.

Requirements:

Relevant technical qualification (minimum N4 preferred).
Advanced proficiency in TurboCAD/AutoCAD.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks.
Knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering principles.
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook) and internet browsers.
Driver’s license and own transport (advantageous).
