Our client, a big wholesale commodity supplier in the Durbanville area, is looking for a highly creative and motivated Junior Social Media Marketer to join their dynamic marketing team.
Overall Role/Purpose:
In this role you will be responsible for developing and executing engaging social media content that aligns with our client’s brand's objectives and captures the attention of their target audience.
Your role will involve creating and curating visual and written content for various social media platforms, managing content calendars, and monitoring the performance of social media campaigns.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement creative content strategies to enhance brand visibility and engagement on social media and online marketing platforms (such as website, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn).
- Create engaging, high-quality visual and written content for social media posts, including images, videos, graphics, and captions.
- Conduct research to stay up to date with industry trends, competitor strategies, and emerging social media platforms to optimize content creation efforts.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute effective social media campaigns and promotions.
- Manage content calendars and scheduling tools to ensure timely and consistent posting across social media platforms.
- Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and inquiries on social media channels in a timely and professional manner.
- Track and analyse the performance of social media campaigns using analytics tools and provide regular reports to the marketing team.
- Stay informed about changes and updates in social media algorithms, best practices, and trends, and adapt strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, copywriters, and marketers, to ensure cohesive and integrated content delivery.
Requirements:
- Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- Proven experience (internships or previous work) in social media marketing or content creation.
- Strong knowledge of various social media platforms, their features, and best practices for engagement.
- Proficiency in content creation tools and software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro) or similar applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling and concise content.
- Understanding of branding and the ability to maintain brand consistency across different social media channels.
- Basic knowledge of analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, social media analytics) to measure and track campaign performance.
- Familiarity with social media scheduling and management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer) is a plus.
- Creative thinking and the ability to generate innovative ideas for content creation.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Knowledge of SEO principles and practices to optimize social media content for search engines.
- Passion for social media, digital marketing, and staying up to date with the latest trends and advancements in the field.
Location: Durbanville
Salary: R8 000 – R15 000 p.m. (depending on experience)
