Lab Technician (Micro Testing)

SUMMARY:
Seeking a Lab Technician (Micro Testing) - FMCG experience is essential.

POSITION INFO:
The incumbent will be responsible for the execution of the company’s laboratory test methods and standard operating procedures.

Requirements:

• Undertaking the microbiological testing in the cream blending micro lab, including process swabs and ad hoc micro analysis.
• Ensuring that accurate results are available timeously.
• Carrying out daily laboratory functions and maintaining good laboratory practices.
• The position is aligned to packing product quality.
• Minimum of a BTech / Diploma / BSc Degree in Micro/Biotechnology, or a related field.
• At least 3-4 years’ experience within a production environment.
• Intermediate Excel level.
• Running of laboratory test methods to ensure continuous packed product QC.
• Preparation and processing of routine and ad hoc plant process samples.
• Communication and distribution of test results between plant sections.
• Adherence to the sampling plan.
• Running, maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting of laboratory analysis equipment.
• Laboratory consumable stock control.
• Assisting with troubleshooting and production and plant investigations.
• Recording results accurately, timeously and distributing this effectively.
• Working according to good laboratory practices.
• Maintenance of good laboratory practices.
• Organization and recording of retention samples.
